Parents,Team Players and Cheer,
We thank you for choosing the Killeen Trojans Organization and look forward to providing a positive and safe environment for our players and cheer. In addition, our coaches will be working hard with our teams to build confidence, endurance, and competitiveness throughout the season. This will be a challenge for some of our players and we will need support from our Parents by giving your kids motivation and encouragement!
Below is some important information and guidelines for practices:
Clifton Park Elementary
2200 W. Trimmier Rd., Killeen, TX 76541 (located behind the Red Lobster in Killeen)
Prior to starting the regular season practices, we will have conditioning. Conditioning allows players to get physically and mentally ready for the start of the practice season. This will entail of stretching exercising and football drills. Please encourage your kids to play outside and do lots of running and bike riding prior to this to help them out these two weeks. The’ll need lots of motivation.
CONDITIONING WEEK: April 7th – May 16th
Practice Days: Monday, Tuesdays, Thursday and Friday
Practice Times: 6:00 PM to 7:30PM

Regular Practice Begins May 20th – Remainder of Season)
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Regular Practice Time:
During School Year: 6:00PM to 7:30PM
During Summer Break: 6:00PM to 8:00PM
Football Practice Guidelines:
Flag – Practice uniform attire, cleats, mouth-guards.
Tackle -Football practice girdle/pants, shoulder pads, helmets, an mouth-guards.
Cheer – Practice Uniforms.
* If your child has not been issued their practice uniform, please ensure they wear clothing that allows them to mover freely (ex. Sweats, Shorts, loose t-shirts) and sneakers.
First and foremost the Killeen Trojans takes the well-being of our team players seriously. Due to our climate environment we can not iterate the importance of being hydrated prior to practice arrival. During practice Coaches will have water available for the teams.
Guidelines for Hydration are as follows:
General Guidelines for Fluid Needs During Exercise
While specific fluid recommendations aren’t possible due to individual variability, most athletes can use the following guidelines as a starting point, and modify their fluid needs accordingly.
Hydration Before Exercise
- Drink about 15-20 fl oz, 2-3 hours before exercise
- Drink 8-10 fl oz 10-15 min before exercise
Hydration During Exercise
- Drink 8-10 fl oz every 10-15 min during exercise
Hydration After Exercise
- Weigh yourself before and after exercise and replace fluid losses.
- Drink 20-24 fl oz water for every 1 lb lost.
- Consume a 4:1 ratio of carbohydrate to protein within the 2 hours after exercise to replenish glycogen stores.
Restroom Breaks: Unfortunately there will not be any restrooms and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We encourage Parents to have their children use the restroom prior to practice.
Food/Snack Sales: On occasion, the Killeen Trojans Staff will have food and beverage items for sale during and after practice.
Practice Field: The Killeen Trojans are responsible for keeping the field clean to ensure continued usage of the field. This needs to be a collaborated effort by the Coaches, Team Players and Cheer, Parents and Spectators. There will be trash cans available on the fields for all trash. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation with these efforts!
